Dev Log 4

During this time, I've been working on polishing the story of our game.

The tone of this story is on the darker and more serious side. Of course, I won't try to make it a tale of despair. It's the glimmer of hope in the midst of despair that will make this story more appealing. In fact, just like the reality of how we use social media, while negative things happen everywhere, good stories also happen every day. In the plot of our game, tragedy has struck and a life has been lost to online violence. And the name-calling and lack of understanding that follows doesn't stop. From time to time, while investigating the events in the game, the player also meets online comments that export negative emotions about the matter. And the most helpless thing is that there is nothing we can do about it. In this atmosphere, I wanted to try to arrange for people who are sympathetic or as obsessed with the truth as the player is to appear in the story from time to time. These people are like a ray of light in the darkness of the night, giving the player some warmth while guiding them forward in the plot. They will make the whole story less cold. I believe that this experience will give the player even more incentive to play. At the same time, it will be more conducive to the message that our story is trying to convey. Although sometimes the truth is serious and uninteresting or even sad, there is always something good to cherish.

I will try to completely sort out the structure of the story and put the plot line of the game in general order during the semester. That way we'll have a clearer new direction to take when we make the game next year. Hopefully everything will progress smoothly.

Your commitment to refining our game's narrative is impressive, balancing the dark realities of online violence with moments of hope and warmth. Structuring the story during the semester sets a clear direction for our upcoming game development, and I'm excited to see your impactful narrative come to life next year.

Working on the story, aiming for a darker tone with glimmers of hope—sounds intriguing! Adding those rays of warmth amidst the darkness is a fantastic touch. Excited to see how it shapes up!
